Dear Comics Lover,
We’ve been quietly building something new — and today we can finally share it with you.
When we launched Fable, our goal was to bring the best British comics to the world stage. But you reminded us that comics weren’t just for grown-ups. At events like MCM, again and again we heard:
“My kids would love this.”
“We don’t live near a comic shop and can’t get enough comics for the family.”
“I wish there was an app like this to get my child reading more.”
So we dug deeper — and what we found shocked us:
📉 Children’s reading enjoyment is at its lowest point in decades
📚 Only 1 in 3 kids say they enjoy reading in their free time
🎓 And research shows kids who enjoy reading have the best chance of academic success and good mental health
💡 But nearly half of UK kids already read comics regularly
That was our lightbulb moment.
We realised we could use our technology to tackle one of the biggest societal challenges of our time: the decline in kids literacy and reading.

Our new mission: to build the world’s most fun, inspiring app where young people can read and create comics — right here in the UK.

🎨 Creative tools that boost storytelling, writing, and imagination
We know from experience: comics don’t just entertain — they can spark a lifelong love of reading and storytelling, as they did for me when I was a kid.
